THE SONGS IN THE MIDNIGHT

“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.” (Acts. 16:25)

Note the time when Paul and Silas prayed and sang — at midnight! And remember their condition after being beaten with many stripes and their feet thrust into the stocks; yet they sang and praised God! Is it any wonder that God shook the place and saved the terrified and convicted jailer?

We grumbled about so very little — instead of praising the Lord. It may be midnight’ in your experience at present; trouble and difficulty may be all around; but this is the time to pray, to sing, and to praise the Lord. Honour Him in this way; then watch for God to step in and deliver you. Begin to praise Him NOW.

It is a good thing to look back in thankfulness and to ‘count your blessings.’ There is so much to be thankful for even in the midst of trouble.

HYMN

Praise the Saviour, he who know Him,
Who can tell how much we owe Him?
Gladly let us render to Him,
All we have and are.

Yours in the Lord’s Vineyard (Dojeh James Edijalive).
