THE OLD SCOTTISH SHEPHERD

“These things have I written unto you . . . that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” (1 John 5:13)

At a special function in the highlands of Scotland many years ago, various people were telling their day-to-day experiences in their different vocations. The Chairman, noticing an old shepherd in the audience, invited him to speak. Not being accustomed to doing so, the shepherd said something like this. “Ladies and Gentlemen; I am not accustomed speaking at such meeting. I am afraid I do not know much about astronomy, but I do know the Bright and Morning Star in Jesus Christ my Saviour. I do not know much about botany, but I know the Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valley. He is my Lord. I’m afraid I know nothing of the geography of the world, but I have found my way, as a sinner, to the foot of Calvary’s Cross.

As he sat down, a peculiar stillness cane over the gathering. The many dignitaries there realized that old shepherd had more vital knowledge than them all.

Beloved, what experience you have not tell people about the SAVIOUR in the CENTRE of your HEART? Beautiful days ahead of you. Take action and tell others to know.

HYMN

For I know Whom I have believeth,
And am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I’ve committed
Unto Him against that day.

Yours in the Lord’s Vineyard (Dojeh, Edijalive James).
