NOT A HALF-CROWN! | Revelation 22:12-21

Read: Revelation 22:12-21
“And behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” (Revelation 22:12)
A well-known Methodist preacher of some years ago had to live on a mere pittance because of the thoughtlessness of professing Christians around him. On one occasion, when about to conduct a service, a scoffer called out to him: “Well, John, I suppose you will get a half-crown for preaching today.”. “Perhaps I shall,” said John, “but that does not attract me. I am living for Jesus, and preaching His Word, that I may receive a whole crown by-and-by!”
Dear Christian, at times the way may seem hard and difficult and you wonder it is worthwhile. Faint not, beloved! Keep your eyes on the “Crown of Glory that fadeth not away.” One day, when you meet the Saviour, you’ll be glad that you remained faithful at your post.
May the Lord Almighty encourage you today to press on with Him.
For our crown will shine the brighter.
For the battle we have won:
And our robes will be the whiter
When our traveling days are done.
